Things you 'd swear you would have noticed long ago: on Gloucester Place just south of Crawford St. earlier this week, a plague marking a house as that of Benedict Arnold, who fled to Britain after a failed attempt to betray the American Revolution.
I think the plaque described Arnold as an "American patriot" (Well, OK, he was patriot in terms of supporting King George III, I suppose). In any event, he died at the house in 1801.
