Snow on Thursday and travel chaos. A trip that normally takes me 30-40 minutes took two hours and involved a bus, an all-too-brief Tube trip and a long, long walk from Baker Street to Belsize Park -- over ice and snow in my penny loafers. Grumble grumble.

But I was lucky. Some folks spent upwards of 22 hours in their cars on jammed roads.

The snow remained yesterday. But sun today has almost erased all traces of the white stuff.
