Hello, all. I've not blogged for a while because we went on vacation to the Lake District (a wonderful place), then work took over.

Yesterday, Diane, Jay and I went to see David Blaine, the magician who's living 44 days on just water in a plastic box suspended in the air near the Thames. The box is over the South Bank, near Tower Bridge.

Blaine began his stunt on Friday, and a crowd of a couple of hundred people had gathered late yesterday afternoon when we showed up. He mostly slept, but occasionally sat up and smiled at the crowd below. At one point, people on a tour boat headed east on the Thames shouted and waved at Blaine. I couldn't tell whether he heard them or not.

Fall is here in full force. Jay is back at school. The tempo of work has picked up. But it's Sunday and tonight we're going to the first of three BBC Proms (short for Promenade) concerts at Royal Albert Hall. Tonight it's Bobbie McFerrin. Don't worry, be happy ...
